Those people are very lucky to have a part of Nathan. As I believe through all I have read that he
was a wonderful young man. Having a son the same age myself has really brought this home to me. My
heart and my thoughts are with his family right now. You brought up a wonderful young man who lost
his life trying to help someone else. Says so much about what type of person he was.

Sunday, and died that evening.
Nathan had been celebrating a friend's 18th birthday party at The Empire across the road.
Friends and teachers described him as a popular and hard-working student with a bright future.
A statement issued by Dorset police on behalf of Nathan's parents said: "Nathan was a beloved son to
Dierdre and Alan and he was the middle child to a 21-year-old older brother and a younger
14-year-old brother.
"He was a caring, loving son, who was full of life, and hard-working.
"He attended Brockenhurst College where he was a Grade A student in all his subjects and had a
prosperous career to look forward to.
"He had recently passed his driving test at the first attempt.
"He loved football, golf and snooker, and was an exclellent sportsman with a bedroom full of
trophies.
"He was well loved by an amazing group of friends and by his family."
Nathan lived with his parents at The Grove, Moordown, and it is understood he worked part time at
Topman.

A GIFT OF LIFE
By Stephen Bailey
ORGANS DONATED: Nathan Ridler
NATHAN Ridler's family made the decision to donate his organs, helping save four people.
The Bournemouth student, 17, suffered fatal head injuries in an incident outside Subway in
Holdenhurst Road last month.
Father Alan, 46, said: "His organs saved two adults and two children- one of them was very close to
death."
Brother Darren, 21, said: "It shows his life wasn't wasted. He has gone on to help people in other
ways."
Several months ago the family changed doctors and were asked if they wanted to sign up as donors.
"Nathan said, why not?" his mum Deirdre, 46, told the Echo from the family home in The Grove,
Moordown," adding: "It brings some comfort."
Nathan, who would have been 18 next month, died at Poole Hospital at 10pm on Sunday, February 24.
Martin Smits, Poole Hospital's director of nursing, said: "An organ donation is a gift that saves a
life or enhances the quality of life. It can be the most difficult decision a family ever makes, but
we've never known of anyone who regretted making it."
Deirdre and Alan urged others to consider becoming donors. The family of one of Nathan's friends
wrote to say they were all becoming donors.
Alan later visited the scene of the incident, which has become covered in flowers. He said: "It was
difficult to deal with the visit but it was lovely to know how much people cared about him."

it.”

Deirdre said: "A lot of the children have been down there every night since it happened."
Tributes flooded in, among them some 200 cards.
The family is still waiting for the body to be released and faces months of court hearings after a
man was charged with manslaughter.
Deirdre said: "I'm determined to go to every hearing."
The death has hit Nathan's brother, Ryan, 12 hard and Nathan's friends have been calling round for
him.
Deirdre said: "Nathan and Ryan used to watch EastEnders together but Ryan hasn't watched an episode
since."
Nathan was an A-grade student at Brockenhurst College who worked part time at Topman, Castlepoint
and had recently applied for a job at accountant Price Waterhouse Coopers.
His football team manager, Steve Thompson from Greenfields Youth FC, said: "It was a privilege to
have Nathan in the team. As a thoughtful, likeable, hardworking, team player, I had no hesitation
naming him Manager's Player of the Year."
Nathan, a full back, was also named Players' Player of the Year.Friends played a football match in
his honour in black shirts inscribed with his name at the Littledown Centre.
Brockenhurst College held a two-minute silence and lowered its flag to half-mast.

UNTILL WE MEET AGAIN.xXx
I know what you're thinking. You think I'm dead. Because you cannot see me with your human eye, cannot feel me with your hands or hold me in your arms, you think I am gone forever.
You recall how I looked when I left this place, and you cannot remotely imagine that I could possibly be alive in another place. You are racked and torn by the pain of our separation and it blinds you to that which is right in front of you... me..............
I'm here to tell you different. You were worthy of my love and undying devotion on earth as I of yours. Do you really believe this love would be snatched from us forever by a loving Creator simply because I wasn't human? Was I not a living, breathing creation with personality? How could I have been so if I didn't possess the energy of soul, spirit and loving light? And if this energy is and always will be, then how can it be that I am dead?
.................
You say that all you have left are memories. Not so. You see, when I took leave of my earthly body I left a little something behind for you. You can't touch it, hold it or examine it for what I left behind is far too uninhibited for confinement. I left behind a piece of my soul. I placed it right next to your own which is quite fitting as we were always side by side in our earthly life together. I love you too much to have left you with nothing but memories, which tend to fade and grow cloudy as the years go by.
I love you too much to have vanished without a trace. How selfish it would be of me to remove love and light from your life.
.............
I understand your tears, each one you shed is testament to your love for me and I am honored and humbled. But don't forget the good things we shared - remember and smile. This is an honor for me as well. And when you need me I will be here. Close your eyes, relax, take slow, deep breaths and picture me in your mind. Shut off the world and your notions of what death is and give me a chance. Look for the subtle signs I send you. Don't stop being proud of me, I am a son to be proud of, I am still your son and soul mate.
Don't memorialize the death of my body but instead honor and celebrate my never-ending life for it is eternal and forever as is my love for you.
Until we meet again...

I never knew you, but i heard all about you. It saddens me that someone like you who had soo much going for yourself gets taken and cheated out of a great future. It seems like life is just a constant war between good and bad...you defeated all the bad with all the good you did, and for that you have earned my highest respect. I wish you were still here man...im sure we would've been best friends. Watch over us, help keep us safe. Rest in peace.

Nathan was the kindest most genuine person I ever had the pleasure too meet and the fact that I got to share my childhood with him makes the memories so special. Nath you were so amazing and when I saw u were at brock and we had our train chats means that our friendship from primary school came flooding back to me. It doesn't seem fair that someone with such a future like Nathan is taken from us but I will neva forget him or the memories I have with him. R.I.P sweetheart , so many people love and miss you but u will neva b forgotten xxxx
My thoughts are with your family
Nath was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was always doing his best at everything, and made time for everyone. Many people owe alot to Nathan, but he never expected anything in return.
I think that if Nathan had know what was going to happen he still would have done it, as he always put his friends first.
Miss you mate
